Vitelloni (2015)
Our first project ever.
2014 saw the formation of the crew after Stik, Sifly and Kota made their first beats together when the latter’s bedroom was turned into a makeshift studio. These early experimentations led to an album that mixes 90’s hip-hop with more electronic textures. It also narrates our discovery of musical styles through sampling.
You can tell that we were still looking for our sound here, still learning how to use our tools and especially how to mix. Jokes aside, you gotta be deaf to mix like that! Maybe the haze coming from those funky cigarettes was so thick we could not hear properly through it…
Anyway, we love it tenderly. Good times!
Features samples from: Yann Tiersen, Ennio Morricone, Cesaria Evora, Cocorosie, Chopin, Berber music, Final Fantasy X-2, Pink Floyd, Archive, Dark Souls Jaco Pastorius, La Rue Ketanou, Komitas, Moriarty, movies & TV shows…
